Description

Xanthan gum is a similar white or light yellow powder, soluble in water and insoluble in most organic solvents. Aqueous solutions are not sensitive to changes in temperature, pH and electrolyte concentration, so they are stable to cold, heat, oxidants, acids, alkalis and various enzymes. High viscosity even at very low concentrations at low shear rates. For example, the viscosity of 1% xanthan gum aqueous solution is equivalent to 100 times that of the same concentration of gelatin. The aqueous solution of this product has high pseudoplasticity, that is, it exhibits high viscosity when standing, and the viscosity decreases with the increase of shear rate; when shearing stops, the original viscosity is restored immediately. Xanthan gum can be widely used in more than 100 kinds of products in more than 20 industries such as oil exploration, chemical industry, food, medicine, agriculture, dyes, ceramics, paper making, textiles, cosmetics, construction and explosives manufacturing. In order to facilitate preservation and transportation, it is generally made into dry products.
